God’s Communication

Has God ever spoken to you? Bible verse John 8:47 reads, He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God. How does one hear God to know He is speaking. God has several ways he communicates, verbal, physical, and emotional.

God might have a friend tell you something you’ve been waiting to hear. You might be wondering if you really matter in your job, then a co-worker comes up and tells you they couldn’t get by without you. You may be asking God what it is that you should do with your life, and he keeps putting missionaries from Haiti around you.

God doesn’t always tell us what we want to hear. You might want to be a minister and he may want you to serve the homeless.

How does God communicate physically? He might have your child come up and give you a hug when you’ve had a bad day or send you an aroma to remind you to call your mother.

God talks to us emotionally. It’s that little voice you hear inside that tells you to do or not do something. Some call it women’s intuition. You need to listen to that voice. It will keep you out of trouble. The best form of emotional communication with God is the joy you feel in your heart when he’s near.

We assume when God communicates with us, it will be a big booming voice or large action. His communication comes large and small. We just need to learn to recognize it. So keep your ears open, your eyes wide, and your feelings in check. God might be telling you something right now, whether you like it or not.
