We were created to live a particular life God set out for us. Only He knows the beginning, middle, and end. Each of us has different gifts and receives different blessings. All of which are up to God.
So why the difference?
Maybe God has given that Bible study woman a strong knowledge of verses while you don’t recall them as well. Could it be so she can spend three years in Africa teaching while your walk is with those in your own church.
You might see someone with a large house and think, why can’t I have that too? Could it be you have too much debt to afford it? Or maybe it’s what they went through to receive it. Imagine if they grew up with a drug addicted mother and abusive father, yet never strayed from God’s word. Don’t you believe they deserve any blessing they receive?
Too often we are jealous of what others have yet we wouldn’t want to walk in their shoes in order to have what they do.
Proverbs 14:30 tells us that A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones. As long as you want what someone else has, you will never have peace. Look at your own blessings instead of others.

The more you want, the less you appreciate what you do have. Yet there are others out there who would love to have your possessions. Did you know most people in third world countries sleep on a dirt floor? I’m sure they’d love to sleep on your non-memory foam mattress tonight. They also don’t have shoes. Still complaining because your friend owns a dozen pairs of shoes and you own very few?
Christians shouldn’t compete against one another. Instead, we should build each other up and be happy others were blessed also. The more you praise God for what others receive, the more likely He is to bless you. And the more peace you will have in your life.
