Prayer in Times of Crisis

I know a lot of us are worried about this virus. We are concerned what will happen the next couple of months. Businesses are closing, that means no jobs, which means no income. People are racing to the stores and buying up anything and everything, so they have enough to make it through before stores close. Will there be enough for the rest of us? And now, churches are closing their doors.

I thought this week would be a good time for a prayer. Nothing is stronger than God. We need to remember Matthew 18:20, For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them. Even if you just gather online, God will hear you.

Dear Lord,

There is nothing you can’t do. You are the great healer, the discerner, and most of all, our loving Father.

We are going through a crisis here in the United States and the world. This virus is turning everything upside down. Some of us are worried, Lord. We don’t know what’s going to happen next. Please, Father, take this virus away. Make it disappear as quickly as it came. And for those who are sick, heal them. Keep this virus from spreading further.

Lord, give us all courage to make it through. Have us realize that you are in charge so there is no need to panic. Keep us from overreacting to our situations and the circumstances around us. And most importantly, God, help us to remain calm so that we react wisely to any situation we find ourselves in.

Thank you, Father for being here with us as we continue to hold onto you. We know in the end you will prevail.

In Jesus’ name,

If you or someone you know needs prayer, please let me know in the comment section below. I’ll be happy to pray for the situation.
