My daughter moved out this past weekend. I never imagined how much stuff she had until we started packing boxes. While I hated to see her go, I think it was time, both for her to be on her own and for me to have my house back.
Too often people hold on, not wanting change, but change is inevitable. And the more we stay in one spot, the more stagnate we become. We need to move forward and let things go. Remember these words from 3:Philippians 13-14, Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Over the past couple of years, I’ve seen too many people hold onto things they shouldn’t. Anger because your candidate didn’t win the election, way past time to let that go. A difference of opinion whether on social media or in real life – time to let it go and to face the fact that sometimes it’s just time to let friends go. And stuff. Too many of us cling to things hoping they will make us happy. When they don’t, we purchase more without ever getting rid of any of the other items.
Holding on to anger and disappointment will tear us up inside. And no one item will ever make you happy. Happiness comes from inside.

The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward. – Steve Maraboli, internet radio commentator

After three years and finally getting on her feet financially, it was time for my daughter to move on. She has a nice apartment that appears to be safe which makes me feel better. Our dog, Ele, is pouting, but she’ll eventually get over it, unlike a lot of humans.
Don’t stay with anger or frustration. God wants us to be happy, not living a life of misery. Too often we cling to the past, but the past will not set you free.
The only way to win the prize of getting to Heaven and being with Jesus is to let it go. It’s time, so just brush it off, and move on.
If you or someone you know needs prayer, please let me know in the comment section below, and I’ll be happy to pray for the situation.
Good advice!!!
Thank you, Anna.
