Strength Needed to be a Mother

Mother’s Day is over and I hope you had a good one. However, there are mothers out there who had to fight through the holiday. They might have a child in jail. You could be a mother who is estranged from your child. Or worse, a mother who has lost a child. It takes all your strength to make it through the holiday.

Use God for your strength. He’s been through those same things with His children. Just look around and see how God’s children have become estranged from Him or turned away from Him. How many of His children are sitting in jail, whether it be for a crime they committed or for just believing in Him? And what about the children He’s lost. Some he’s lost because they lacked belief. But one he lost on the cross so you and I could have salvation.

He knows what you’re going through. Take strength in His word. Philippians 4: 6-7 reads Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

It takes a lot of strength to be a mother, whether your children are present or far away. Take heed in the word of God, and if you need something more to help, buy yourself a candy bar. I’ve found that a Snickers mixed with God’s word is a wonderful combination.
