David Silverman, President of the American Atheists is trying to keep two metal beams pulled from the rubbish of the World Trade Center from being used at the memorial. Why? Because they fused together in the shape of a cross. How do we, as Christians, fight such hatred? With prayer.
Matthew 5:44-45 reads, But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.
If every Christian in this country prayed for David Silverman, can you imagine the possibilities? His heart might change. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see an organization that is so “anti-Jesus” fall apart because their President no longer hated Christians. Or better yet, if he found God himself.
A lot of famous Christians are real good at pointing fingers and complaining about non-Christians. I can’t help but wonder what the outcome would be if instead of pointing, they prayed for these non-Christians. I believe a lot of things can be fixed in this country if Christians would just pray for people to turn their hearts. I know I’m praying for David Silverman. Who will you be praying for? Please let me know. I’ll be more than happy to join you.
