Photoshopping Sex

People are getting angry over the media’s photoshopping of models and actresses to make them look younger and thinner. Some are darkened to appear more tanned, while others are lightened to appear more white. So where is all the anger when the media does the same thing to sin?

The media makes certain sins appear normal, especially sex. You’d think people went from bed to bed without any thought to the consequences. But that’s not reality, even in Hollywood. Did you know Tina Fey of 30 Rock was a virgin until the age of twenty-five, when she met her current husband? While Mariah Carrey wasn’t a virgin, she and her second husband Nick Cannon waited until marriage to have sex.

Why is it such a bad thing to wait? The media makes it appear normal to have sex before marriage. They’ve even made it seem like a big step in a relationship for people to move in before marriage. Remember how important it was to everyone when Chandler and Monica moved in together? All their friends were in tears at this important decision. Apparently they didn’t realize that people who live together before marriage have a 75% chance of divorcing.

1Chorinthians 6:13 reads, You say, “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy them both.” The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. Could that be why STD’s are so rampant in the world today?

Maybe we should take advice from Former NBA star A.C. Green who was reportedly a virgin until he married at the age of 38. When asked is this was true, he is quoted as saying, “Hey, I know who I am and what I am, and that is a virgin. And with all of the risks associated with sex, I’m surprised you’re not.”
