Is it true that anyone who believes Jesus is the son of God will go to Heaven? If you listen to some ministers, that would be the case. However, wouldn’t that then make Satan a Christian? He knows for a fact Jesus is the son of God, and he believes in Him. So why is he not allowed in Heaven?
Believing in Jesus is the first step toward becoming a Christian. But in order to be a true Christian, you must accept Jesus into your heart, and live like you believe. That means doing your best not to sin or to drive others away from God. A lot of people go to church, but they leave Jesus behind when they go out into the world. Sitting in a pew doesn’t get you into Heaven.
If you’d like to get into Heaven, you need to lead a life that tells others you believe in Jesus. After all, actions speak louder than words. And no one knows your heart better than God.
Matthew 7:22-23 reads, Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
Things happen unexpectedly. You can’t predict what the person driving the car heading your way is thinking. Are you living a life that is pleasing to the Lord? You might not have the time you think you do to make things right with God.
Ask yourself this very important question. “If I were to die right here, right now, would my final day show my true feelings about Jesus?” I hope you answered yes. But if you didn’t, take a moment to have a talk with God to see how you can put things right. After all, I bet there’s one great party going on, and I’d hate for you to miss it.
“Sitting in a pew doesn’t get you into Heaven.” anymore than living in the garage makes you a Cadillac.
Thanks for the reminder!
That’s right. Just like sitting in McDonald’s doesn’t make you a french fry.
