As Christians, we are to go out in the world and bring people to Jesus. But in doing God’s will, we are not to be part of this world. That can be hard sometimes, especially when you see people who are doing worldly things winning. If you happen to be doing God’s will and feel like you’re losing, it can be a bit distressing.
John 15:19 reads,If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. God put you in this world to live his word, not live the life of sin to succeed.
I get irritated when I meet a “Christian” writer and discover they also write erotica under a pseudonym. The only reason they wrote the erotica was because they knew it was easier to sell. That’s a cop out. It’s taking the easy way out.
You can change your name, hide your face, or do things in anonymity, and maybe your parents or other church friends will never find out what you’re doing. But God knows. He knows you’re following the world and not his word.
It’s hard to work all the time and not see any changes in your financial circumstance. Then there’s the people who don’t work but seem to get all the benefits. However, God has a plan for you. And once that plan comes to fruition, you’ll realize the wait was worth it.
And remember, success in this word is fleeting. Eternity in Heaven is a better goal than to live in this world with “things”. Times might get hard, but God will get you through.
Just fall on your knees and let him know you’re willing to wait.
