The election is almost here and over. Thank you, Jesus. Of course, that means Christmas is right around the corner. Doesn’t it seem like this year has just flown by?
The older you get, the faster time seems to pass. You say you’ll get to that project tomorrow. Before you know it, tomorrow is next year. How many of us say we’d like to travel, yet never seem to?
There are also a lot of people who believe they have time to get things right with God. They’ll start going to church next year or next month. They promise that one day they’ll give up smoking or drinking. They’ll mend that rift between themselves and their sister. Do we really know how long we have on this earth? Not really. You could step off a curb tomorrow, and it could be all over.
Now is the time to make God a priority. Matthew 6:33 reads, But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Before you do anything, you should make God first on your list. Once you do, you’ll find time for what it is He wants you to do.
Getting right with God is not going to happen unless you make Him number first on your to-do list. Pray and read your Bible each day. We never know how long we have before God is ready to take us.
I don’t know about you, but I’d hate to find out I wasn’t prepared for the end. I can’t imagine standing before Jesus and being forced to watch him shake his head no. Can you think of any worse than that?
Put God as number one in your life. Lean on Him for everything. It’ll do little to keep time from flying in this world, but imagine that wonderful feeling when Jesus takes you into his open arms.
