Memorial Day become an official holiday in 1971. It is to remember those who have died fighting for this country.
Today, let us not forget those who have died so that we may have the freedoms we enjoy. Black men are no longer slaves, women can vote. We can pray to whatever God we feel is the correct deity without fear of execution. We can go to a voting poll without retribution of being shot or killed.
These are just some of the freedoms we have been allowed because of the death of others.
Take a moment and pray today for the soldiers who have given their lives so we can have the basic freedoms we sometimes take for granted today.
