Have You Gone Through the Change?
How often to you say something you don’t mean to? I find myself at times cursing though I’m better than what I was years ago. That’s the thing about being a Christian. You want to change in order to move closer to Jesus.
Colossians 3:8 reads, But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Getting closer to God means trying not to do those things which might disappoint Him. We want to show that not only do we believe, but that we love Him. Isn’t that what children do? They show their father how they feel by their behavior.
The best way to show you’ve changed is to act it. Especially to those closest to you. How many Christians do you know that still attend movies they shouldn’t? According to a recent poll, 80% of Christians have sex outside of marriage. The divorce rate among Christians is equal to non-Christians. Seems we need some work in the change department.
Changing for Jesus is all about self-discovery. We see things in ourselves we’ve never noticed before. And we don’t like it. We don’t like how we are seen in other people’s eyes. We want to be better. We want others to know that Jesus is real and living in us. That is why we should change. As Christians, we want to show the world what our God is all about.
You might think it’s too hard to make the changes you need to. But with Jesus in your life, nothing is impossible. And even small changes will impress your family and friends. No more cursing. Treating others with kindness. Having faith at the door of adversity. These are all ways to prove you’re a believer in Christ.

The more you come to know Jesus, and allow Him into your life, the more things change. You don’t go to the strip clubs or the bars. You will find that you don’t even miss it. That’s how God works. He gives you other things to take its place. Your family and your church.
How has believing in Jesus changed you? Has your family noticed. I’d love for you to share your story.
If you or someone you know are in need of prayer this week, please let us know. We’d be more than happy to pray for you.
And if this post moved you in some way, please feel free to share it.
