God’s love – He shows his love for us daily. He shows it in ways we might not even realize. Did you have coffee to drink this morning? Did you make it safely into work? God doesn’t show his love for us in only the big ways. He does so in the simple thingscoffee as well.

Too often we don’t think about how much God’s love surrounds us and keeps us safe. You might be late getting out of the office only to find a car up ahead smashed from a driver running a red light. That might have been you if God hadn’t held you back.

God loves us so much He gave His Son to die for us. Not many fathers would go that far for people who have a tendency to walk away. Ephesians 2:4-5 says, But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. Even when we sin, God’s love is there for us.

Sometimes we aren’t sure of God’s love. How can He love me with all I’ve done? There probably isn’t one person who is reading this who hasn’t asked that same question. Do you love your child less because they disobeyed you? Or committed a crime? Of parenting-teencourse not. You hate the action, not the child. That is how God works. He loves you no matter what you’ve done. He wants you to be happy, yet He knows you will do things against Him. Assert your independence if you will. But when you chose to come home. There He is. Waiting for you with arms wide open.

If you have never known the power of God’s love, then maybe it is because you have never asked to know it – I mean really asked, expecting an answer. – Frederick Buechner, “The Magnificent Defeat”

God has never turned His back on you no matter how many times you’ve walked away from Him. He has always been there for you. And He always will be.

God’s love is never ending. It stretches as far as the east is from the west. And as far as one hand to the other on a cross.

If you or someone you know are in need of prayer this week, please let us know. We’d be more than happy to pray for you.
And if this post moved you in some way, please feel free to share it.
