My Bible study group, the Ladies of the Lord (LOL), are doing Cindy Bultema’s study titled “Red Hot Faith.” It’s been a great lesson on lukewarm faith.
This past week we learned that God sees us in a positive light. While we might think of ourselves as fat, God perceives us as beautiful. The book suggests we list, from A – Z, how God views us. Let me tell you, once I was finished with this exercise, I felt totally blessed. There is no way you can feel down about yourself when you know God’s opinion.
God wants us to feel good about ourselves. He doesn’t want us to live with shame, guilt, or self-hatred. 1 Thessalonians 5:5 states, For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. He loves us so much, He calls us His children.
I thought it’d be good for you to do a list also. See what you can come up with. I’m not asking for all twenty-six letters, just five. I’ll start:
- A = Adored
- B = Beautiful
- C = Capable
- D = Desired as His child
- E = Everything to Him
Now it’s your turn. Do any letters you like. I used the first five, but feel free to mix them up. If you’re adventurous, try Q, V, X, Y, Z.
I’d love to see your list. If you are willing, please post it below. It might help others know just how much
God loves His children.
One thing I discovered doing this exercise was that I used terms that made me feel loved. That’s one of my insecurities. I have trouble feeling loved and thinking of myself as worthy. I wonder if you’ll fill your list out based on your insecurities also.

This is not an easy exercise, because we have a tendency to notice our flaws. However, God sees us through His eyes. Eyes that look up us with love and see how hard we are trying. No matter how often we make mistakes, God will forgive us because He loves us. We are adored, beautiful and capable. He desires us to be His children because we mean everything to Him.
If you or someone you know are in need of prayer this week, please let us know. We’d be more than happy to pray for you.
And if this post moved you in some way, please feel free to share it.
Q–quite with the FATHER
V–visionary missionaries
X–straight prayer time with our heavenly FATHER
Y–your commitment to the FATHER
Z–zellious love for his forgiveness of our wrong doing, and sending HIS SON to open a path to haven by HIS blood.
Thanks, James. I really appreciate the list. Good stuff.
