Why is it we can’t seem to get enough of the Kardashians? They have no particular discernible talent except to get publicity. Yet our society thrives on them. We also can’t wait to turn on television shows 
like “TMZ” and “Jerry Springer.” The reason? We want to know that people are behaving worse than we are.
Yet, eighty percent of Christians have sex outside of marriage, and the divorce rate among self-proclaimed Christians is equal to that of non-Christians. I know the arguments. It’s not the nineteenth century, that’s living by the law, or God doesn’t want us living in misery. All good arguments. Yet these same Christians, who are having affairs with other church members, can’t wait to point fingers at others who they claim are sinning.
Bible verse: Matthew 7:3-5, “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye[c] when you have a log in your own? 4 How can you think of saying to your friend,[d] ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye?5 Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye. Why is it that we, as Christians, can’t wait to point out other people who are sinning, but have no trouble justifying our own?
We post on the internet how terrible it is that homosexuality is growing in this country, and then roll around with the guy we’re shacking up with. Last time I looked fornication was a sin. Just because you “love” him doesn’t make it any less so.
We need to take a step back and look at our own lives before we stare into the windows of others. Before you tell someone else what they’re doing wrong, how about fixing what you’re doing wrong first?

I’ve said it many times in order to fix what’s going wrong in the world, we have to fix what’s gone wrong in the church. Until we start to look at the failures of the man in the mirror, this country will never get back to the Christian ways of our forefathers.
And until Christian leaders realize they are part of the problem, and start teaching the way they should, Christians will continue to blame others for the faults that should rest solely on our own shoulders.

Perhaps I’m in the minority, but I could care less about the Kardashians and don’t watch any of the suggested programs. I do have strong beliefs about what is right and wrong, but I know I’m not perfect and I need to look to me first before trying to fix everyone else. The speck in the eye, thing. But I agree with you – until our faith leaders, churches, pastors and those with a voice that can be heard start fixing our own house, nothing is going to change.

I don’t watch the Kardashians or any of similar junk shows. I rarely watch TV. I was married to the same man for 45 years, not all of them years. But I stayed the course and I never had an affair. I have been a widow for eight plus years. I was raised on the precept that you better sweep your own doorstep before complaining about the dirt on someone else’s.
