Put Prayer to Work

I am a firm believer in prayer. I think God hears us and listens to our cries. I also believe that when People_Praying_04_zps47df7244hundreds of people pray for the same thing, true change will come, as long as it is God’s will and not ours. Matthew 18:20 states, For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.

This past week, I received a post on Facebook regarding praying for this country.  According to the information, Churchill had people in England pray at the same time every night. He encouraged them to pray for the protection of their soldiers and citizens. I couldn’t find any information to confirm this, but in the long run, isn’t it a good thing to pray? In addition, the person forwarding this added that we also pray that God returns to our country.

I want you to sit back and imagine what would happen if over a hundred thousand people prayed for this country at the exact same time. The miracles would stun even the truest of believers. As long as you have faith that God is near and that He hears your prayers, something will change, even if it’s just something inside of you.

Let us never forget to pray. God lives. He is near. He is real. He is not only aware of us but cares for us. He is our Father. He is accessible to all who will seek Him. ― Gordon B. Hinckleyauthor

Prayer has been known to cure people of cancer and to protect those in dangerous situations. The more soldiers-1002_1920people willing to pray for this country, the better protected we will be. I also imagine our prayers could change the hearts of a lot of non-believers as well.

With dangers lurking around every corner including North Korea, ISIS, and the drug culture, we need to pray for God to return to this country in order to remain safe. Nothing is more powerful than our God. As long as He is for our country, nothing can win against us.

The notice circulating has asked that we pray at 9:00 EST. I have little doubt God will move things in this country in ways that will amaze and stun. Some of you might not be sure what to pray, so I’ve actually written a prayer for you below:

Dear Lord, our powerful and loving God, please protect the soldiers and citizens of this country. Protect your children, Father. And Lord, our country has strayed from you, please return us to a Godly nation. In Jesus name, Amen.

Not even one minute but your prayer could make a huge difference in the safety of this country. Set your clocks so you don’t forget. The more prayers we have rising up, the more likely His hand will cover us.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see what changes He has in store for this country. All  Christians have to do is get on their knees and allow Him to take the lead.

If you or someone you know is in need of prayer this week, please leave a comment. We’d be more than happy to pray for you. And if this post moved you in some way, please feel free to share it.
