A Global Day of Faith

Did you know Global Outreach Day is on May 28? On this day, you’re supposed to tell one person about Jesus. This is another one of those dates where Christians celebrate being a Christian.

It seems Christians need to have a date on the calendar in order to do what should come naturally. I say put away the date book and share your faith daily.

However, for some people, it’s not that easy to do.

BIBLE VERSE: Romans 10:17, Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. The more you hear and read the Word, the more likely you are to grow as a Christian. And the more comfortable you’ll be sharing that faith.

On May 28, a lot of people will post about Global Outreach Day as a way to show their faith, yet most will not tell anyone about Jesus. Too often we hide because we don’t want to appear pushy or don’t know Faithexactly how to reach others. Posting something Christian on your social media site might be a good start. I would suggest you post something Christian every day until it’s not only something you’re used to, but others will be anticipating as well. Another way is to share a weekly Christian blog post.

By doing so daily and weekly, you not only become more at ease sharing your faith, but others will be comfortable by hearing it.

And when you’re with others, pray, or mention something about your faith or a church service. The more you speak about your faith, the more relaxed you become sharing. And if you so daily, then every day will be your Global Outreach Day, not just once a year because the date changes.

Don’t get me wrong. I think it’s great to have these dates where we can gather in the name of God. faith handsHowever, we shouldn’t need a special day to talk to others about God or to prove we’re Christian. That’s something we should show by our actions every day. True Christians have something about them that is different. And others want to know what that something is.

You don’t have to preach your faith in order to get others to listen. In fact, sometimes a subtle approach works best. But you never know who might be affected by your sharing of the gospel. And the more someone hears God’s words, the more likely they are to want to get to know Him.

If you or someone you know is in need of prayer this week, please leave a comment. We’d be more than happy to pray for you. And if this post moved you in some way, please feel free to share it.
