Gang violence takes an innocent life. Rape among college sports stars is on the rise. A child gets harmed by another. People ask all the time how God can allow bad things to happen if he loves us.
VIOLENCE EVEN OCCURS IN CHRISTIAN HOMES
God doesn’t tempt a predator by putting children in his sites any more than He put 50 Shades of Grey into the hands of Christians. God gives us free will to make our own decisions. Every day, we hear about violence in our country. As of today, over 500 people have been murdered in the city of Chicago alone. And we ask why God is allowing this to occur. Why does he not stop it?
Our country is in the shape it’s in not because of God, but because Christians are not being Christian. Do you really believe God wants abortion? Do you think he wants bigotry? Entitlement?
We want Jesus to protect and bless without having to live by His word. As long as we live for this world and not for Jesus, we will have more violence. Romans 12:2 says, Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. The devil is the one who brings the heartache you are seeing today. We have allowed him into this country, even to the point of his sculpture being erected on government property. We’ve thrown Jesus under the bus and allowed immoral factions to rise to fame. Then we sit back and complain.
Christians need to step up and put their votes, their money, and their actions where their faith is. We need to change the way we behave. It’s easier to blame non-believers than to look at the man in the mirror.
People say the Democratic Party is not the same as it was forty years ago. Neither is the Republican Party. Neither are Christians. We have sat back and allowed immoral factions to take over this country and our schools. We elect our officials based on a party instead of the person. Television shows are known for sexually explicit material instead of talent. If you don’t have the “f” word strewn throughout a movie, it makes no money. Erotic books outsell Christian books two-to-one.
“R” rated movies wouldn’t make money if people who call themselves Christians weren’t purchasing tickets.
Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth. – John F. Kennedy
No matter how many times you point at God and say “Why, God, why?” we only have ourselves to blame for the mess that is happening today. And, if Christians keep being a part of the world and not separating themselves from it, things will only get worse.

Another fine post, Kathy. I do have a couple of prayer requests for you. Two cancer warriors, Bob and Martha. Please pray for their recovery.
PS I enjoyed seeing you again at last week’s conference!
It was good to see you also. I’m praying for Bob and Martha full recovery and for strength through their battle. Thanks for letting us know.
