With the shooting in Ft. Lauderdale and terrorism growing, the world can seem like a scary place, Toss in illness, pain, and money issues in your own life, and you might think God has walked away. But He will never leave you. Deuteronomy 31:6 reinforces that, Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
God is with you until the end.
He might back off and allow you to live with the consequences of your actions. Or if the situation is not of your own doing, that valley might be there to build character or prepare you for what God has in store next.
No matter the circumstances, there are still blessings to be found. Everything from flowers in a field to the blue sky overhead, from the roof that keeps rain away to the smile on your grandchild’s face, these are all blessings from God.
Unfortunately, we get too focused on the bad to notice the blessings God has put before us.

I have a challenge for you. Over the next thirty days, create a blessings/praise jar or bowl. Place a jar or bowl on a table and every night write down one or two things that you were blessed with that day. List something you can praise God for. If He got you to work during heavy traffic – write it down.
A blessing can be something as simple as God allowing you to get out of bed that morning. For some people, that is a true blessing.
At the end of your thirty days, go through your jar. I imagine once you’ve read your notes, you’ll feel a lot of God’s joy in your heart and realize He has been beside you the entire time.
If you chose to accept this challenge, I’d love for you to post a photo of your blessing jar or bowl. Just click it to the comment section below.
Also, if you or someone you know is in need of prayer this week, please leave a comment. We’d be more than happy to pray for you. And if this post moved you in some way, please feel free to share it.
