Today is Memorial Day. The day we remember those who have died for our freedom. When we think of veterans, most of the time men come to our minds. However, there have also been women who died fighting alongside their military brothers.

to lay down one’s life for one’s friends

The following is a website with a list of female soldiers killed in the line of duty.  http//www.americanwomenveterans.org/home/category/women_kias/

Remember all the military personnel who have died in the fight for our country and the freedom for others.

Lord, please put a protective hedge around those who fight for our country. And those who might give the ultimate sacrifice, let their friends and family feel your loving arms surround them in their grief. Amen.

I pray you have a safe Memorial Day.  I’ll be back with my normal blog next week.
