Dear Father,
God, it’s me, the United States of America. It’s that time of year when we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and I just wanted to send out a quick prayer to You before all the hoopla gets started.
First, I want to thank You for loving me and caring so much that You sent Your Son to die for all my citizens and everyone in this world. At one time, my people recognized You as the Supreme Being, and we were united in the belief of one nation under God.
Now I must confess that I have forgotten the blessings You had bestowed upon me in the past. Not just as a nation, but each one of the people who reside within my borders. We have given in to the world with sinful ways. Allowed Your name and the Bible to be taken out of my schools and government. We’ve allowed movies and television shows that cast disdain upon Your name to thrive.
I humble myself before You, Lord, and ask for Your forgiveness
I pray You restore me back to my former state where I truly was one nation under God. Please give me voters who elect officials and judicial leaders whose hearts follow You so I can become a better country. At every election, allow officials be chosen who will work together, instead of individuals who care only for their own ideals or political party. I pray every decision that comes out of the government and the Supreme Court is Your decision. And please, Lord, put in the hearts of Christians in this country the courage to stand up for what is Godlike, not what is politically correct or based on a political doctrine.
I pray for President Trump and his family. Turn his focus from social media and place it on his promises to return me back to the glory days when I once was a great country. And please keep all the leaders of this country safe, whether they are a democrat, republican, independent, or part of some other political group.
Also, Lord, please protect the people within my borders. Make any dangerous individuals who plan to harm another known to the authorities. Keep our officers safe and give them the mindset to discern when to use deadly force. And please protect our military, whether here in my land or those away. Allow them to do their job to help others without their lives being in danger. And give an extra blessing to those families who have either lost a soldier or have one overseas protecting others.
Most of all, I pray You bring me and the people within my borders back to You, Lord.
Thank You for taking Your time for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
