A Jumble for the New Year

Most New Year’s blogs will discuss goals, things like weight loss, eating healthier, etc. I thought I’d just send out a jumble of thoughts I’m having right now.

First and foremost, I hope you all had a blessed Christmas. I had a great time with my family, especially the four-year-old granddaughter. It’s always great to see the holiday through her eyes. Unfortunately, the older she gets, the more she’ll lose that excitement. I need to enjoy it while I can.

New Year

Looking back on the past year, we’ve lost a lot of celebrities, from Tom Petty to Sue Grafton, one of my favorite authors. I’m sure it’ll be the same in 2018. Seems the older I get, the more of my favorites pass away. I just pray they were saved when they do go. I hate the thought of any of them not hanging with Jesus.

I hope you had a great New Years. I stayed home and watched my Jacksonville Jaguars. Unlike so many, I’m not a fair-weather fan. I’ve watched them all along. (Yes, even with the debate on the National Anthem.) This is the first time in almost ten years we’ve made it to the playoffs. To go from winning only three games in 2016 to the AFS South winner has been quite fascinating to watch.

What is your biggest plan for next year? I know you’re expecting me to say writing, but it’s actually to get out of debt. I’m working Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover, hoping to get rid of some of the credit card debt that I have. Thankfully the car is paid for, so that’s one less debt to worry about.

At church, my ladies’ Bible study group, LOL (Ladies of the Lord) is beginning a 12-week study on the 4 gospels. It’ll go in chronological order so there won’t be a lot of repetition. I’m pretty excited about this study. It’s on-line so there’s no cost for the group, which is always good. If you’re interested, here’s the link to the study: https://bible.org/series/gospels-chronological-12-week.

That’s all I have for now. Let me know in the Comment section below what you’re up to. Also, if you’re in need of prayers, please let me know. I, and my followers, are always more than happy to pray for you.

HAVE A BLESSED NEW YEAR, and I can’t wait to hear from you!
