Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. I know, most of you single women just rolled your eyes. What does this day mean to you anyway? And yes, I did hear the loud sigh from the married women whose husbands don’t have any interest in celebrating.
3% of pet owners give a gift to their
pets on Valentine’s Day.
We need to stop allowing this day to get us down.
Remember, no matter the day, you are loved. Psalm 46:10 tells us Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Jesus loves you and is always with you, so rest in Him. Let Jesus be your date on February 14.
What all this gloominess on Valentine’s Day really comes down to is the world telling us we’re not important if we don’t have a partner. Why is it we’re never happy with the company we keep? Mainly ourselves?

It shouldn’t take a holiday to feel loved. As Christians, we should feel God’s love daily.

The best part of being single or having no plans with your spouse is you get to go where you want to. You can bond with other friends who have no plans. And best of all, you don’t have to watch silly mushy movies.
In fact, on Valentine’s Day this year the Olympics will be on. What better way to celebrate February 14 then to treat it like any other day. Only hopefully this time, it will include a couple gold medals for our athletes.
Too often we allow what is important to the world impact how we see ourselves. If we don’t have a boyfriend on V-Day, we must be lonely. I don’t know about you, but I’m too busy to be lonely. And way too busy to try to find a man to hang with on that day.
We need to set our sights on things that are more important. Valentine’s Day is supposed to be a day for love. What better way to show your love than to help others. Is there a senior in your neighborhood who lives alone? Why not fix her dinner or bring her over a box of chocolates? Get a good laugh and make it a heart-shaped box.
I don’t know about you, but I’d rather celebrate this silly holiday with my God, than Cupid, some kid in diapers shooting arrows.

That’s right Debora, though loneliness is a very human emotion so don’t beat yourself up for it. Just dive into God’s word when it tries to take over. 🙂
So very true, I used to feel I needed to hide on Valentines Day or now Sweetest Day, ugh. Now I do something for myself to feel better for me. Being with family is always good and giving time to others as well. I’m glad to say I’m happy with the Lord as my Valentine now and always.

IDK I still kind of dread the day. St some point in my life I used it get spoilt on this day and I truly do like the shows of love that go around and would like it for myself and not always anticipate disappointment
Just remember, your never alone. God’s always there, and He loves you no matter what day of the year it is.
