The Song Says It All

Someone posted a photo of their son’s back where a bully hit him so hard it left a mark. Apparently, this had been going on for a while, and the school has done nothing. Yet they allowed these kids to walk out to protest school shootings.

bulliedThe quicker a parent responds to bullying,
the quicker it’s resolved.

There’s also a new country song out titled “Drunk Girl” by Chris Janson. While the song has a good message, I find it sad that we need a song like this today.

Kids in school are getting angry over all the school shootings as they should. Their message is “We should be safe.” While some seem to disagree, I believe they do have a right to be safe at school. But I also think that should count for girls who are raped and those kids who are also being bullied.

Psalm 82:3 tells us to Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. We need to shout when someone has done something inappropriate, even if it doesn’t get us on the news.

Instead of shunning a girl who accuses the star college football player of rape, how about shunning him instead. Winning games should never be more important than the emotional and physical well-being of another. Yes, sometimes the girl is lying, but in most cases, she’s not, yet she’s the one made to feel guilty. A girl should feel safe enough to go to a party without having all her friends watch her back if she chooses to have a few drinks. But too often these days that is not the case.

That’s where the song I mentioned above comes in. It’s about taking a drunk girl home. Give it a listen below.

Just think how different the world would be if it were cooler to stop treating each other bad. Would there no longer be a need for these type of songs that tell us the difference between a boy and a man?

Please pray for the safety of our children. Pray for boys to act like men when the weak are in need. If the strong were to stand up against evil, things might change within our society. Instead, silence is harming our young people. And we need it to stop.

If you or someone you know is in need of prayer, please let me know. I’ll be happy to pray for the situation.
