Years ago, (a lot of years ago) I used to say I’d never be old like my parents. I’d be young forever. I wouldn’t complain about kids playing in my yard or the new technology. Then along came digital coupons. Half the time they don’t work. I found myself getting angry at Publix the other day because the only recourse I had was to go home and reinstall my information. That meant those coupons on the items I purchased couldn’t be used until next time. It was then I realized…
I was getting old. And the older I get, the more I hate change.
Give me paper coupons and cars with windows that roll down any day. Unfortunately, the world is moving forward while I want to stay firmly planted.
There is at least one thing out there we can all count on that will remain the same. Jesus. Hebrews 13:8 reminds us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. He has kept His word through all these years.

If you’re like me and love stability, relish in the fact that no matter what happens in this world, God will always remain the same. He will be there to love you, cherish you, and have His arms wide open when you go home. In a world where change is a constant, that is great news.
Change is inevitable. Some of it is positive, some not. But isn’t it nice to know that no matter how this world may change, God has and will always keep His word? We have Him to rely on when things go bad or when we get upset at something as silly as digital coupons. In the end, all these changes mean nothing compared to His love for us.
What is the biggest change that has irritated you lately? I’d love to hear your comments in the section below.
If you or anyone you know is in need of prayer, please leave a comment and I’ll be happy to pray for the situation.
Automated call directors. I hate punching buttons and jumping through hoops to reach a representative. It’s designed to discourage phone calls. I wish live voices answered phone calls. 😠
I agree. You should be able to hit zero to reach a human on every company line.
Great article. I love that verse, Heb. 13:8.
