Proof of a Loving Family

I went to a funeral over the weekend of a man who was clearly loved. Not by the number of people in the sanctuary, but by the words spoken by those in his family. Not only did they speak of his kindness, but of his faith, and how he loved to have fun. Obviously, they are a close family. And while they will miss him, they also know he is in a better place.

Some of us didn’t have a close, loving family. Some didn’t have a good father, a mother who knew how to show love, or for some reason felt like they didn’t belong. But, we can all have the closeness of a loving family no matter where we are. All we need to do is become part of the loving family of God.

1 John 3:1-2 reminds us all to See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. We are all His children, and as such, a family.

God is our father, and all his children our siblings. Our family is large and in most cases very loving and supportive—the way a family should be. Sure there might be arguments, but the most important thing you should share is love.

If you’re in need of a loving family, get to a good church. There you will find your brothers and sisters in Christ. Turn to the Bible to learn of your loving Father. It’s the best place to find the love you missed from your Earthly family. And even if your family is very supportive, you should still lean on your Christian family. After all, who couldn’t use more love in this world?

If you or someone you know is in need of prayer, leave me a comment, and I’ll be happy to pray for the situation.
